Title: Making a Cold frame

My parents have replaced their back door and have kept an aluminium double glazed door with safety glass for me to use as part of a cold frame.
I know I'll have to find something to support this, say in the corners, but what are everyones opinions of using old wine bottle, stacked horizontally and covered in polythene for the walls? ???

I have a lean-to cold frame made from an old glazed door too. The sides were just timber, reclaimed from old pallets. The hinges were attached to the shed walls.

Your door will be extremely heavy, so be careful when handling it.

We use an old alimunium framed window as a lid to ours in the winter, but the sides are made out of a laminate floor we ripped out of our lounge when we moved into the house.
My boyfriend made it for me, works really well.

Thansk to everyone for their adice. Have decided on a sturdy set of supports for the corners  and lots of wine bottles around three of the four sides covered in polythene.

Just have to drinkall the booze now!!!
