This is my first year of sowing sunflowers. I decided to choose something a bit different and went for the dark red of 'Red Sun'. Grows to about 5-6' tall, so not a huge variety (small garden!). Not all of the seedlings have come out in the same deep red though - the others are yellower with tinges of red.
Anyway, here is my first flowering red sunflower!

Hope this is the right board to post this pic on!!

Steve - gorgeous colour! Well done. I'm also new to sunflowers this year, and have some red/bronze coloured ones growing - Fire Walker and Velvet Queen. They are still small as I planted late so shall have to wait to see what they turn out like. If there anything like yours, I'll be very pleased. :)

Thanks for posting that LS, been able to show L2S what her Sunflower 'Red Sun' might look like when it flowers ;D. I usually grow the Dwarf Sunflower 'Big Smile' this is my first attempt at big ones ;D

Gorgeous colour, so rich and hot! Number one daughter is growing some red sunflowers in her growbag garden and they have done better than my giant ones on the allotment!
