Title: To get toms low on the plant.
Post by: ina on June 25, 2005, 21:37:03
A while back Richard K. wrote that his first truss of tomatoes was high up the plant and that he was running out of head space in his greenhouse. I suggested the horizontal planting of leggy plants after removing all but the top most leaves.
Today I took a picture to show the results. Most plants are now a little over 1 meter tall and have four trusses with the fifth visible in the making at the top. The bottom tomato on the picture is about 15cm off the ground. There were three leaves under the first truss.
