Just bought "First Steps in Winemaking" by C.J.J Berry (appropriate name !)

From the 60's but well reccomended, simple, clear and refreshingly old fashioned.

successful wine needs just 6 basic ingredients :

sugar
water
acid (some lemon juice works fine)
nutrients (from your local brew shop)
yeast (from your local brew shop)
and lots of TLC

in addition to the above you can add flavour by making the wine with vegetables, flowers, fruits, leaves, roots, herbs or honey.

Right now i have 7 brews on the go : Dandelion, Rhubarb, Elderflower, Oak Leaf, Metheglin (spiced mead), Pyment (mead with grapes) and Rose Petal. Planning Barley wine, Melomel (mead with fruit) and Sake next.....

can't wait!
