Title: A 'picture' of a thunderstorm...
Post by: Trillium on June 20, 2005, 13:27:36
Not a photo as such - but an image from the weather station graph after the storm went through yesterday.

Your weather chart is very interesting Trillium.

We are not very far from you, in Cheshire, it was a corker of a storm wasnt it? :o

Hi honeybee,

It was fabulous!  We had a ton of work stuff and gardening gear outside  - I saw the sky blackening and enlisted the neighbour's help to tidy up.  He really didn't know why I was in such a rush until the first huge drops fell.  We didn't get hail which was a relief - nothing got flattened.

I do feel for the poor folks in Yorkshire. Our sandy soil saved us round here I think, it just soaked in.

I put a match to the bbq about 5 mins before the first drop of rain.

Ooops.

Still had the barby though, parasol in hand - well it is summer isn't it ?

Interesting to see the chart of the storm, very nice.

Cheers

Dan

Hi Dan,

Where are you based then?  Must be somewhere north-ish if you got wet yesterday too?

We just had a few rumbles of thunder, and a few spots of rain.
But just a few miles south of us, poor Helmsley in North Yorkshire, really suffered - some may have seen it on the news. Apparently, a dam burst its banks, and one house got completely washed away.

Trillium

Liverpool.

Not far from Newton - my aunt used to live there.

We got the rain about 2.45 - must have taken 15 minuets to travel the 62!

We did not see a drop of rain here in sunny Herts!  We had a temperature of 33 Degrees Celsius and it was awful!  But I suspect we must stop moaning as sun is what our lovely plants require to grow !
