Hi there,
I have recent found a hedgehog in my lottie. Does it do any harm to my veg? What does it eat?

Lucky you! Your slug population should start to decline. No problem with your crops. Just don't feed your new pal, let him hunt out the baddies for tea. A pile of small logs or sticks covered with straw in a corner would make a good home. Keep him happy and you have a free helper. Don't use pesticides anywhere at all or you'll kill him off.

Thank you! But it scared me everytime when I saw its. :o

The best thing you can do to keep it happy is totally ignore it.

I want one - one frog just isn't enough.

I had a lovely toad in my garden for about 3 years, and he kept the slugs down a treat. Sadly, he hasn't shown himself this year so I suspect he's gone to the dark, damp corner in the sky :'(
I used to put out a shallow dish of water with a flat stone in it, when it was hot, and often found him lounging in it. I even managed to get a couple of photos, once :)

I'm thinking to make a nest for it. But how ???As Kenkew said a few logs or sticks? Where to put them? I don't know where does the hedgehog live ???I think it was searching his mate, because I know one have been traped on a rat trap then die later about two week ago :'(

We are keen to make a hedgehog house too. There are some instructions at the Hedgehog Preservation Society (http://www.software-technics.com/bhps/Leaflets/HedgehogHomes.html). :)
