The g/children were allowed in this am - 7 off the first 2 plants.
But suddenly realised I had not given the plants any food!
-
wow!
When did you sow them? (cucs, not the grandchildren!)
-
27 March - planted out (cold 'house) 30 April.
Earlier than usual because, unusually, I let the fruit grow from the base. Nagged by the g/c.
-
Wow Tim!
They certainly look like they're enjoying them!!
What variety (Cucs not Grand Children)?
-
Passanda - Dobies or Fothergills - very reliable.
-
do you heat your greenhouse tim?
-
Wow ! they are lovely !! I am feeling very envious.
;D
-
Lovely jubbly ;D mine karked it in my plastic greenhouse >:( ???
-
Look great Tim.
You know that law, that one that sod invented....well, in the greenhouse I have 4 cuce plants, all growing and being nurtured as I hoped to gain a few weeks and get a nice early crop, the rest of the plants, another 3, went out on the plot about 4 weeks ago. The ones on the plot, covered in fruits starting about 2 fingers wide and about 6 inches long, ones in the greenhouse, not a flower! Why bother?
-
kitty - they were grown with bottom heat, then into cold house.
Emma - capital S please!!
-
Gosh I dream of cucs like that!
Well done
-
I planted my teeny little cues out today in my warm box thing. Look miles behind yours Tim :)

There's a time & place..................!
My second batch only went out a few days ago.

Our daughter Mia (2 yrs) loves cucumber. As I have always failed fairly miserably in the cold g/house, this year I have grown Sutton's Burpless tasty Green as recommended by Tim. They are an outside ridge variety and I have to say are doing quite well with tiny fruits on etc...got some in g/h and others outside on the plot.
