I have several and they are all good for different things.  'The Allotment Handbook' by Caroline Foley is my main one for reference.  But I also like 'Grow You Own' Veg by Carol Klein.

My all time favourite is Organic Gardening by Lawrence D. Hills - its out of print now (but you can still get it on Amazon). I have read it so many times it has fallen apart and the pages have turned brown. A few line drawings, lots of tables packed with info - 90p when new in 1977!

Out of my growing collection of Allotment related books like KT I find these two to be the ones I refer to most, especially 'Grow Your Own Veg'
