Inflict myself on various peeps boxing day.  Might have gone to me bros but he splitting up with partner and bad vibes.

welllllllll, the big day is spent with my mum, sis and her kids, where we are all spoilt, mollycoddled, fed, watered and tucked up into bed.  Then Boxing Day we are spending with Avas family, where we are spoilt, mollycoddled, fed, watered and sent packing back home after the kids have spilt juice on their cream carpets, broken several ornaments, demolished the Chrissy tree and eaten all of their chocs!  After that, we are basically having an open house, so if you are this way, come by for a mince pie and a glass of something yummy.  If however we are not here, it is because we are scrounging and mince pie and a glass of something yummy from someone else!!!  ;D

SEASONS GREETINGS!

The running stops till at least Jan 30th.....tis EEEEVVVILLLLLL

Don't know, am tempted to hide under duvet cos is warm n cosey (and have toy under pillow.... ;D)

I'll go to see Mum on xmas day cos she's staying in Sheff specially cos I have no bloke and she feels sorry for me (oh the pressure!!)

Then will do dinner for Vegan types day after boxing day, with party later at nice sexy friends house...

Will spend all boxing day on my own having a FAB time eating cheese balls, drinking wine and watching v v bad TV - am looking forward to this most of all

Dont like xmas as a rule, is too much enforced enjoyment, think people should enjoy each other all year round, not just on 1 day cus convention says so...

Will try and see Messiah somewhere cos I LURV it - especially the bit that goes "we all like sheep" - v funny

:D

Lock up the computer from prying eyes, and spend 3 days getting severely mauled by hordes of grandchildren, whose names I have increasing difficulty in remembering, and none of whom have the slightest respect for my grey hairs.

Now mystic personage, I gather you have not extensively studied Persian history in relation to the harem?

Well, you see, Hugh is like a Turkish Pasha, reclining on a chaise longe in Topkapi palace whilst watching his Harem with heavily kholled eyes ............. No, sorry, Hugh doesn't have the eye makeup ............. Oh, I don't know Your Honour ......... suits you sir ........

Christ mas is usually quiet for me. We are a small family.  Just me, my parents and my grandfather, get together on christmas day itself for a meal presents etc.  Am expecting things to be a little hard going this year, grandfathers health is not so good, memory and hearing deteriorating. Still he enjoys the day spent with us instead of in his care home. And it is only for one day.

Boxing day weather permitting I go to watch the horseracing at the local course, which is always a good antidote to the excesses of Christmas day.

Then its almost back to normal until New Years Eve, when we again get together for a meal, and see in the new year quietly.

Get up about nine on Christmas morning, immediately put the Turkey on to cook  (though I am having chestnut pate).  My son and daughter and her partner will come downstairs (they always stay the night on Christmas Eve), with big grins on their faces, and rush into the living room, where everyone has hung their pillow case the night before.  Hopefully if Santa has been they will all be bulging.  Santas' tray will  have been desimated, there will be a big chunk out of the carrot for the reindeer, the teethmarks looking like my husbands.  The sherry will be gone and just a few crumbs of the delicious Christmas Cake.

My husband will be hovering around with a camera, catching all the smiling faces.  When the children have finished, it will be mine and Mikes' turn.  There will be lots of laughter and I will feel immensely grateful that we are all still here as a family.

We will have Christmas Dinner about 1.00, six of us and we will pull the crackers.  After our dinner we will either doze after everyone has helped tidy away or play a board game, drinking wine and eating chocolates.  We will watch TOTP and the Queens speech.  Don't have a formal tea, just nibble on left overs. Late afternoon the children will pack their things and go their various ways

Boxing Day is a day for lazing around, getting up late, and thoroughly indulging ourselves. My sister and her husband are coming for a visit from London on Sunday 28th  for a few days, and after than it will all be over for another year.  For the huge amount of arrangments it goes so quickly. Then 2004 to look forward too!   :) Busy_lizzie

Well, unlike all you lucky lie in beds, I shall be up at 6am, quick cuppa with hubby(home from sea this year ;D) then wake up daughter and phone youngest in New Zealand.  Their big day is almost over then.  Then we throw ourselves on our pressies and dissappear in a mound of wrapping paper.  Quick breakfast for me then dressed and off to work until 2pm.  Yep someone has to be on duty to look after our poorly patients not   well enough to go home yet.  Im not stupid though  ;).  By the time I come home dinner will all be done apart from the gravey, that is my job.  Then stuff faces with food and drink and head to bed clutching husband and bottle of gaviscon :P :P.  Boxing day  the hoard arrives and we start again ( only earlier, because Im off duty for 3 whole days now ;D.  MIght just about waddle to beach to walk dog and wear a few calories away.  Cheers all.

Christmas Eve, hubby's got daughter for the day, so finish last minute wrapping etc... The day itself, get up not to early I hope; join hubby (estranged) and daughter to open stocking ; then cook lunch; ma-in-law arrives, open champagne and then pressies; eat lunch; snooze on sofa watching rubbish T.V.
Boxing Day no plans as yet we'll just go with the flow......

`Course she is BB. Why else would she call herself Magpie?

But, Di, I bet you never saw Waur Jackie, the Robledo brothers, Jimmy Scoular at al at their best.  And when the Magpies were 3 or 4 goals up the defence would stand still and let an opposing forward through, then shout "EY UP, e`s coming" to Fairbrother in goal, and Fairbrother`s language had to be heard to be believed.

A nice Christmas Day at home for us and all who care to drop in.  Please keep your fingers crossed that my baby grandson will be well enough to join us (he is in hospital suffering with bronchitis at the moment, though he is doing well, thank god)

Christmas Eve: cook the turkey.
Christmas Day: pack turkey into car. Drive for 1 1/2 hours. Recook turkey in grandmother's oven. Eat turkey. Drive home again.
Boxing Day: look at weather out of window. Shake fist at sky as it will be raining.
Day after Boxing Day: ditto.
Day after day after Boxing Day: think "sod it my fruit is coming" and go to the lottie anyway. Dig mud. Give up.
Repeat ad nauseum.

Ten x

SueT,   Like everyone else hope your little grandson is better soon.  Would be lovely for you to have him home for christmas.  Bless the little one!

If anybody is really stressed out this Christmas, "drkoop.com" has some help on how to "Decompress during the Holidays" on its site.  :)  busy_lizzie
