Went to Hm Bse today, wanted paint and compost , well you've got to look around !
Wandered into the garden bit, ---- reduced plants ! [ cue music ], what can you do !
... sooooo, got a Phoenix Canariensis , [ Date palm ] 5ft tall, bit brown round the edges, is OK- for
£2.99, and a Washingtonia Robusta [ cotton palm], couple of feet, 4 shoots looking good ---
for £ 3.35 !!
Came home and Googled both of them --- was so excited at the thought of my tropical / secret
bit in the garden.
25 to 30 METRES ! :o not in my lifetime surely ?
Thought they were your council bit of exotic they put in the middle of roundabouts !
Please tell me they can be pruned/controlled ?

Look after them and sell them on in Spring... :)

NOPE!
But mine has only grown about 5m in 4 years, you are nearer the frozen wastelands of the north than I am so it should not get too big before you get carted off to the old folks home ;)
