Title: Cucumbers - outside
Post by: 1066 on May 26, 2009, 07:52:56
Hi
I'm growing Mirella and Marketmore, and the plants are all doing really well, in fact possibly too well! (but I'm sure that won't last long ...)
Basically the plants have been in pots on a window cill and are nice and tall and healthy, but have started to flower. I was going to pot them on and was wondering is it too early to put them outside yet, I don't have a greenhouse, and the cheap placcy thing I have is full. I could fleece them but wondered if that would be enough protection for them

Thanks

they should be ok, you don't get late frosts down your neck-o-the woods, do you? ;)
(harden 'em orf first)

Thanks TB, it is a rare thing to get a late frost, so I'll start them off today

They should be OK outside now. Keep an eye on the weather forecasts just on case, and cover them if you need to. We had a frost on June 16th a few years back, but it doesn't happen very often!
