Is it too early in the season to move my tomato and pepper seedlings to the poly tunnel? I've run out of space on my permitted section of the kitchen windowsill!
-
I would say that with this weather it may be for least another 10 days or so
-
I think due to exceptional weather conditions, you will have to negotiate for a bit more space.
-
Rest of march is likely to be cold.
I hope the weather makes up for it soon and catches up with itself

What temperature do they need? A friend said hers aren't doing very well in the heated greenhouse. She doesn't like plants on her windowsill :BangHead:. I thought that was what windowsills were for :drunken_smilie:.
-
If they get a touch of frost they will all blacken and die - I know this because I did it last year and lost all my Toms. Unless you can quarantee temps above 1 degree I wouldn't. The peppers will hate it as they really love the heat and will more than likely sulk for a while, stop growing and may start to rot.

I've expanded onto a table under the dining room window. Too early to chance my little babies in the poly yet :toothy10:

I'm debating moving some of my staging into the lounge next to the bay window.... I need mroe space but daren't trust stuff that has hatched indoors to the unheated GH yet.... argh...

"permitted section "?????
Put yer foot down! Those tommies an peppers are more important than cill space!! :toothy10:
Good question tho! Normally by now it would be kinda safe to move to yer tunnel but the weathers 'kin rubbish. I think winter started in may last year and hasny stopped yet!! :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead:
Best to get some earache for now and hang on for warmer days!!

I've moved some houseplants onto the dining table to clear some windowsill space in the kitchen and also cleared a windowsill in the kid's playroom (and locked the door so they can't go in), so I should have enough space for now. If this cold weather keeps up though I'm going to quickly run out of space.

I 2nd what BarriedaleNick says....my poly tunnel thermometer went down to -3 at the beginning of the week when we had snow.
