Title: Best Tips
Post by: Digeroo on September 13, 2017, 08:49:01
Thought I would start a new thread since things have gone quiet.
What is your best tip for right now.
Mine is feeding blackcurrants.  Found it on NZ website to feed in autumn.  I was worried it might persuade the plants to sprout new growth which would not survive the winter so only fed a couple of plants.  But they simply seemed to produce bigger buds particularly low down.  So this year had particularly big fruits and long chains of them and nice  new growth from the bottom in the spring.  As you can see from this website they say main fertiliser is Mar/April.   Which I translate as Sept/Oct for us.

Not sure I want to give my main feed them because it will simply wash out of the soil during the winter.  But they do seem to like a feed about now.
