Title: Tomato from seed swop help with ID
Post by: pumkinlover on March 12, 2022, 19:21:09
Can anyone remember a tomato from the seed swop I don't know what year it came but it must be a few years ago as I haven't participated for quite a while.

The packet says" Indian bush tomato Likes of surender"  at least that's what I think it reads?

This is an Indian tomato with strong tomatoey flavour but not much sweetness.  A cooking tomato that develops its full flavour when cooked, rather than a salad or fresh eating tomato.  I used the name given by Elfeda, the donor for this seed.  https://www.victoriananursery.co.uk/Tomato-Seed-Surenders-Indian-Curry/

Thank you Galina, now I know how to use it appropriately.
I sowed the Roughwood golden plum from you in January and I have a small forest of seedlings now!

Ooh... do like the sound of that! Just sown 27 varieties of heritage toms... but if I sneak another one in I may end up under the new patio...

This was the seed circle information page that contains Surender tomato.  http://seedsaverscircle.org/a4a-seed-saver-group-2016/

And this was the year we had Roughwood Golden Plum in the seed circle.  Thank you Jeannine for the original seed.  https://seedsaverscircle.home.blog/a4a-seed-saver-group-2017/
