Title: Amalanchia Canadensis - taking a cutting?
Post by: CotswoldLass on January 24, 2015, 16:04:19
Well, it looks as if we will have to move. Lots to think about but I planted this lovely tree in momory of my beloved Lurcher Spritzer when she died in 2006. It's wonderful, and now about 9 feet tall.
Any ideas as to whether I could take a cutting? Would hate to leave it behind and not have something of her to live on.....

apparently you propagate shoots with a mist propagator

or grow from seed that has preferably passed through the stomach of a cedar waxwing :)

I've also seen sites that say that root cuttings work best:

I've tried growing it from seed and failed. I don't suppose you could take some cuttings for me as well? I could send you an SAE.
