      The boss would like (wants) some french beans grown this year is it too late to start them off now?

I hope not because mine aren't in yet. The packet says to sow outdoors, mid April to mid July.

Sowed mine yesterday.  No, it's definitely not too late, I have always sown at the beginning of May.  Good luck. :)

don't forget French beans are annuals, and don't last the whole summer like runners (at least the dwarf ones don't). Plant some every month to get  a continuous crop into the autumn
