Post by: N_J_J on March 21, 2017, 12:39:01
Hi All,

This might have been asked but I'm a newbie to the allotment game -

Comfrey, are all varieties the same or does 1 stand out ?

And is there a way to identify comfrey ? I think I might have some in the garden which I thought was weed  :BangHead:

Hi Bocking 14 is the universally accepted best variety as it doesn't spread like a weed. The leaves are pointed and hairy (they are just starting to point their way through the soil now, in Worksop at least) and can cause irritation if handled too much.
