Resisted the plants but they had medium size self watering pots for 1.99 (previously sold for 3.99) and I bought a few.  Also a can of wasps nests killer for £2.99.

So thanks for the tip off.

Went to have a look but leeks compared very poorly with some I bought for £1.70 at local market.   I have 12 little pots each with a small clump of leeks in.  Aldi offering 15 tiny plugs with a few grass like blades sticking out.

They had lots of bedding plants most of which needed watering, and the rest were well wilting.

Market also offering F1 named broccoli 12 for 1.70 nice size plants while aldi had fifteen tiny plugs all unnamed and certainly unlikely to be hybrids.

Sorry no thanks Aldi.

I've just been to Aldi's and wasn't impressed with their 'offering' either.  ::)

I hadn't thought of the local market. I know it's a bit late but I might be able to get some sweetcorn plants there.

The marathon calabrese bought from say source is now being eaten, very pleased.
