Your plot is amazing, Gazza - you should put photos on the "plot shot' thread surely.
Actually i've just twigged - you don't go fishing, you just buy nice looking fish and take photos for us. You also can't have time to do that much gardening, you just employ a full-time gardener, and you sit around nicely retired!!!!!

Oh how id Luv a proper Plot again Peanuts,but the local council told us when we moved here that a 10 year waiting list
is the norm so ill probably be pushing up the daisies by then so just make do with sharing half the garden with the girls
Mum and Jude have the Lions share which isn't that big anyway,and yours truly has about 20 x 40 feet so its miniscule
compared to the plot Jude and I had.....but hey....im having fun squeezing in what I can.
retired......if you call waiting on me mum 24.7 ....cooking washing and vacuuming while Jude has been working retired then
I guess im retired..... :tongue3:....but no in reality I shall be returning to work somewhere down here when we are happy
mum can look after herself even if we get temporary dinners delivered in as shes not too cooking appliance friendly.
anyway thankyou for any comments.....its been fun so far.

10 years is a very long wait. Is there no other way. Can you persuade a local farmer to rent you a space?

Funnily enough Digeroo we get our Eggs from a farm not 5 mins walk from our Bung and hes got acres of land with animals on it
so maybe I need to sweet talk him about snatching a few sq yds for the price of some chicken feed.....who knows....thank you

Dont pay to feed the chickens... its an open-ended commitment! Offer to give him "half" of your crop. Dont pick it for him. Grow what you like and I bet youll barely notice what he takes. Just check his combine harvester wont fit through the gate!
Let him provide fencing to keep his stock from grazing. Arrange for the manure to be stacked where you ask. Never visit on a Sunday. Its the perfect solution, no security of tenure either way. Quarter acre should suffice.

Your garden is looking great, lots of hard work I bet, but looks like the payoff will be amazing. Good luck finding an extra bit to grow, any neighbours with big gardens that might want someone to take over part of it?

What a lovely garden Gazza. You and Jude have done really well in the short time that you have been there. I hope you don't have to wait ten years for an allotment.
