Title: Ceanothus
Post by: caroline7758 on August 26, 2017, 17:30:28
Is there such a thing as a small Ceanothus? I've just dug out (or rather OH has!) my second one that has got too big for its spot. Is there one I could grow in a pot? I love it when it's in flower but it's not worth giving it too much room for the rest of the year in a fairly small garden!

I'm not aware of a small variety. Blue mound tends to do as it says rather than climb.I have however managed to keep the shrub small by regular pruning once the plant has finished flowering.

Heres one in a pot. Perhaps the pot acts like a bonsai and keeps it small

Looks like they are both the same variety

This was mine a few years ago I found that a good 'haircut' after flowering kept it to this size
