Title: Bright orange spots on raspberry leaves
Post by: tricia on May 23, 2015, 14:36:55
Very pretty but what should I do? About half my row of 2nd year Joan j are affected so far and also most of the Autumn Bliss. I've looked it up, but the advice seems somewhat contradictory. Anyone had experience of this? Glad of any advice that does not involve digging them all out! :sad10:

Sounds like raspberry rust... https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?PID=775

Being fungal disease....it would be worth it making/getting some garlic spray giving a 'doze' every other week or so...but having a break when the fruit is ripening for picking. It is not fatal problem anyway...you might have to see what it is that might be encouraging the issue with your plats...over crowding or something else?

I had it last year. I sprayed them with yoghout/nettle and water mix.

Thanks, I made up a garlic spray last night and used it on the raspberries today. Luckily, the rain has kept off so I hope the damage won't spread any further  :BangHead:
