Title: what size are cucumber plants
Post by: grawrc on June 07, 2010, 22:00:02
I'm growing Crystal apple cucumbers and "gherkin" cucumbers for the first time this year. They are now ready for planting out but I don't really know what size the plants will grow to and how much space they will need. Can anyone help?

Hi, Crystal Apple  plant will grow the same size as any other vining cuke. Re the gherkin one.. gherkin is a description  rather than a variety, I know it says Gherkin on some UK packets, (one of my pet hates,)but    they  do come as vining and as bush,  however most pickling cukes are bush , do you have any other info.

My gherkins last year were four-five foot vines with some fruiting sideshoots, this year I plan on a row of them planted 6" to the stagger.... I want a lot of gherkins.....
