A couple of years ago I planted an apricot tree.  It grew and thrived but we had just 5 apricots last year and they fell off before they were ripe but it was a summer of extreme heat and drought.

This year it's been cooler and a bit wetter and we've had about 20 kilos.  Gave loads to 2 sets of neighbours, made 8 pots of jam and have a freezer drawer full of halved apricots and apricot compote.   They are absolutely delicious and so much better than in the shops.

Lots of purple plums too this year - no idea what but much tastier than the horrid, bland Mirabelles.

We've even got some apples on the Bramley Seedling, Braeburn and Cox's Orange Pippin I planted last winter and they'r ebeing watered deeply once a week so we don't lose them.  Dry here again but not baking hot, yet.
