Why are mine matt skinned rather than nicely glossy??

Sometimes it depends on the tomato variety. There are matt tomatoes, such as Garden Peach and other so-called 'fuzzy' varieties. But I don't think yours is a fuzzy type, maybe slightly under ripe? Have these been washed?
If they taste fine, I would not worry. Perhaps just one of those environmental things with the extra hot days followed by deluges and unusual cold we just had. Nothing in the garden behaves quite like 'normal' in recent years it seems. :wave:
PS: do they polish up to a shine when you rub them gently with a cloth, like we do with apples for the Christmas stockings?

my tomatoes are still all green not sure whether it is still to early to start removing some of the leaves would appreciate some advice please

Forgot to say - John Hawkins - grow bags in cold 'house.
No - don't polish.
Others - Nectar - are fine.

yes tim and water i just water the pots saves water feed once a week water twice they seem to like the method never get blossom end rot or other toms pest

give it a try i put the toms infront of my espalier apple trees so what the toms dont take the trees have and it has really worked trees are growing great and the toms too

lolmy garden is a fruit and veg free my wife wont let me put any in so im barred to the allotment for my gyo fix then back home to tend our 120ft by 20ft garden flowers only :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead:
