THis is a South African member of the daisy family called Berkheya purpurea. Gorgeous, but untouchable!
Propagated by division in Spring wearing very thick gauntlets.

there is one of those daisies in the grounds where i work and i can can vouch first hand u defo need gloves to touch :)

They look like osteospurman thingys, but with attitude! ;D Very curious. Bet it keeps the cats off the flower beds ;)
