this is a rant. Our allotments back onto our gardens here in NW11 a leafy and lovely suburb 7 miles from the centre of town. Next door but one is a rented house and over the years has had tenants that were hardly noticeable. we now have young family 2 adults 2 children and that isn't a problem but it seems that every weekend they fill their garden with other kids and couples and are generally very noisy. last week the scurge of all suburbia arrived in the form of a trampoline. screams and whoops of joy for 4 hours yesterday and then an ominous silence.... I of course new where 15 children had disappeared to and went to the allotment to find them all running all over peoples plots removing bamboo canes messing with the water and eating the produce.
Given that I have had words with the father on two previous occasions about him and his family having no access to the allotment I gave them a few short tempered words and told them to go away. I did not swear. A woman appeared and said I don't know who you think you are but you have no right to speak to them that way. I do have a right - this is private property and you are trespassing. she then, all mother hen like gathered all the kids around her and loudly said." Don't listen kids She clearly doesn't know what she's saying"

the kids gain access to the allotments through a large hole in the hedge by-passing all signs. but as it has been clearly pointed out on several occasions that they shouldn't be there what can we do?

With Fam here over the weekend and me sitting in the corner licking my wounds after being Horsefly bitten in the Greenhouse, amazing how such an insignificant little begger can have you swat it away after it nibbles you then 24 hours later the bite goes bad and my whole arm around my right elbow has inflamed now in Bournemouth AE being told as your a Type 2 Dia and are feeling unwell you may go into sepsis.....mind you felt crap.....did then...still do now...but chin up...scoff some more antibiotics they let me on me way....home ....don't feel like doing much so .. in the kitchen to make a scooped out veggie boat with some mixed veggies and a olive oil dressing.......nice and cool in the sun.

then we all had  Griddled Chicken Salad.

then a summer fruit salad kept the troops happy........

Hi all,
I've accidentally sprayed my runner beans with Rose Clear rather than the organic Bug Clear that I intended.  The container says that it should only be used on roses and keep clear of food crops.  My bean plants are not yet bearing any pods so do you think they'll be ok when they do?  To clarify, I was spraying because the plants were developing a black fly problem.  Also, I've not checked into this site for a long time.  There was a very knowledgable old gentleman named Tim who was a regular contributor and I wonder if he is still with us? Thanks for any help in advance of receiving it. :-)

Lovely Fresh Sauce that I enjoy dipping chips or using as a Dip for Raw Vegetables or smearing on fish.

1/2 lemongrass stalk
3/4 cup crème fraiche (use 0% Yogurt as a low cal alternative)
grated zest and juice of 2 limes
1 inch fresh ginger, peeled and grated
1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt, or to taste

To make the sauce. Very finely chop the lemongrass or grind finely in a spice grinder or by hand in a pestle and mortar. Whisk with all of the other ingredients for the sauce and set aside.

Keep remainder in a covered bowl in the fridge for about 7 days.
