Title: Pyramidal Orchid
Post by: Mikeakabigman on October 22, 2014, 22:26:11
In the light of the new ability for us to post images direct to site, I thought I'd  try posting this shot of an Orchid taken in the sand dunes near Seahouses in Northumberland.  :happy7:

There was a splendid and widespread display of these, and some early purples, earlier in the year on the Hogs Back downs due south of Guildford cathedral.

Yes, the Hogs back has always had quite a few Orchids growing along its length, there are now large clusters of them along the verges and central reservation. I can recall as a young lad, in the early 1960's, seeing several of the now rarer varieties.
