As a native of the Saffron Walden area, I was delighted to discover a Chater's double hollyhock at our local shop, which is now at the bottom of my garden, and it got me thinking. The other big nursery in the area was Engelmann's (see here: https://saffronwaldenhistoricalsociety.files.wordpress.com/2018/01/engelmanns.pdf ), specialising in carnations, and I was wondering whether any of their varieties are still available, because I rather fancy growing some.
Thus far all I have found is Engelmann's Giant pansies and, bizarrely, they only seem to be available in South Africa!
Can anyone help?
Thanks!
Adrian
