Post by: Paulh on January 10, 2024, 14:12:05
... my last tomato! It had been ripening slowly indoors after I picked it when clearing up the greenhouse before Christmas.

Still have a couple of tomatoes, (orange banana has stored the best) and carrots from a small raised bed. Swede and celeriac from sand boxes.

Butternut squash - still have about a dozen but they are not storing as well as they normally do so I'm having to keep an eye on them and use them as soon as signs of rot at the stem end becomes visible. The last one from 2022 was eaten in July! I think the heat in June 2023 followed by the wet August is to blame.

Just been sitting out my home greenhouse, and just picked the last few chillies left on totally dried out plants. Very very hot!

No toms here but not so bad for other things. Still have some fennel, sweet potatoes, leeks, peppers and chilis (just about), beetroot, squash, chard, kale and of course cabbage!
