Wrap early small spring flowers and grasses onto eggs, dog violets and primulas are particularly attractive, cover with onion peels, the larger the better. Fix with a few turns of string. Bring to the boil from cold and let simmer for a couple of minutes. Switch off, lid on and let eggs cool. Uncover eggs and wipe to bring out the shine with a bit of bacon fat, or a few drops of oil.
Luxury natural easter eggs.
