Post by: George the Pigman on March 23, 2015, 22:56:48
Anyone any recommendations for soil test kits. I am concerned how accurate they are!

I used a fairly basic one from a garden centre a few years back, it confirmed the soil is on the acid side and that's about it. I've thought about have an analysis done, but never got around to it, I think probable price put me off. I'd be interested in doing another kit if any are recommended.

I keep meaning to have a proper soil analysis and, me, do a test-tube kit at the same time, and then based on that test-tube kit will enable me to know where or whereabouts I am. I have a sneaking suspicion that, after years of manuring etc., I ought to be liming the Brassica bed ... but because my soil is clearly alkaline I've been telling myself not to bother ...
