Title: 20% off at Homebase
Post by: caroline7758 on January 28, 2009, 08:26:20
All Martin Lewis fans have probably seen this already- 20% off at Homebase from Friday to Sunday with a voucher. Looked at their website and they've got a good range of seed potatoes. Guess where I'm going on Friday?

:) :) Many thanks Caroline 7758 will be there bright and early. Really struggling to get my spuds this year.  Always seem to be working or the potato days are just to far to travel.  Swindons this Saturday 11am till 4.  Got no chance as working  10.30 am to 5.30 pm.

I have just noticed that the voucher states:~
Exclusively for friends and family of Hombase, Argos and Home Retail Group employees.

The money saving expert web site states:~

All the vouchers have been fully checked out for legitimacy, and can be used by anybody unless stated. Yet remember items can be cheaper elsewhere even after the discount.

Any thoughts on this?

Duke

It also says

"This was originally an offer just for friends and family of Homebase, but we’ve been given permission to share it with MoneySavingExpert’s readers."

I'm trusting Martin on this one! Will let you know on Friday after I've been- surely by shopping there weare all "friends of Homebase"  ;D

Well, I used my voucher this morning at Homebase in York. the woman on the till said at first that they don't accept print-offs, but when she checked with her supervisor, he said reluctantly that they have to accept them and that "someone" has posted this on the internet. I told him where I'd got it and warned him there will be a lot of people coming in with them this weekend!
As it was, their range of seed spuds was rubbish so I only bought some bird seed and probably spent what I'd saved on petrol driving to Wilko's & Wyevale for my spuds!

Got my 20% off this morning!  Went to my usual assistant, who said "ohh yes, one of those" and complained about all the digits she had to type in.  She also suggested I could print off more.  I'll try that with another email address.

Printed off my second voucher yesterday using another of my email addresses and did a bit more shopping (and they added my spend and save points).  Better value than their 10% days  :) :) :) :) :)

There's still time to get there - they close at 4 pm today!

All I can say is "Thank you".  ;D ;D ;D ;D

We were wondering when to get our seed spudlies but now we have them.

So they are soon to be "a chitting".

Our Homebase had quite a good selection. We ended up going for Charlotte, Pink fir apples, Desiree, & Santa. Last year we tried Desiree, Charlotte, King Edwards & Valour. The Valour were great sized potatoes but lacking in flavour.

No problems with the voucher. Saved over £7.  ;D

Glad you were able to use it, MP.
I was wanting Charlotte but they only had one bag which had already started sprouting. :(
