A swallow just arrived on Salisbury Plain this  morning.  It must have thought it was too cold up north!  No house Martin's again this year yet all our bird boxes were full in 2017 and lots of babies.  When they didn't arrive last year I wondered if they had been shot on the Continent or had caught some awful disease.  I really miss them as they are such lovely birds.  I love it when the chicks poke their heads out of the boxes.  I hope they eventually return.
