Title: What rain?
Post by: Digeroo on September 15, 2015, 06:50:17
Another night/day of rain was forecast and still the water butt is not full.  Just a few very brief showers.   :BangHead:  Today it is dancing round us again.   There seems to be blobs on the radar everywhere but here.  There;s one set hoving eastwards along the south coast, a rash of showers over wales and a huge blog from Sheffield to York heading south- all are due to miss us out.

Sowed grain as green manure if it does not rain the voles, deer and pigeons will eat it before it germinates. :BangHead:  Or I will have to water it.

Maybe tomorrow........

Lots of rain here in North Hampshire. More forecast to come to. Can't get on the plot as too sticky!
Hope some comes your way soon.

Now that is a frustration I do not have, it is possible to dig my plot within minutes of the rain stopping.

Heavy rain and wind in the West Country yesterday, pond and butts full - glad I did some digging on Sunday after seeing the forecast.

Lots of rain here in Derby, and of course not only had I arranged a manure delivery to my plot, but I didn't finish my night shift until 08.30, so was shovelling muck until 11:30 in the pouring rain! Got to bed at 13:00........joy. :sleepy1:

Really heavy showers along the south coast, now it is heading north where it belongs. I'm glad it is this week as we are dragging the caravan away for the next fortnight. Pevensey bay for a bit of sea fishing while she goes shopping and doing womens stuff. Then a bit of Morrissing, drinking, music and mayhem  up in Surrey to finish off the fortnight. Not heading up to the frozen wastelands of the north this year until December, then going to Skeggie for a themed weekend at Butlins. I will have to smear the old goosefat on then I expect, to keep out the artic chill.

A dry and windless Sunday morning allowed me to get the 2nd application of garlic powder spread on next years Onion plot, followed by plenty of rain on Monday to get it well down into the soil.
Finally a plan has come together! Just have to wait till next summer to see if it has reduced the dreaded Onion White Rot or not.
