I know that Bob Flowerdew has some in his garden, he keeps them outside all year, and if I remember rightly, in autumn he packs straw around them then covers them with netting to keep the straw in place.

Many of the mail order sites selling bananas offer advice e.g. http://www.jungleseeds.co.uk/BananaArticle.htm (http://www.jungleseeds.co.uk/BananaArticle.htm)

Take a look at www.plant-seed-mailorder.org.uk (http://www.plant-seed-mailorder.org.uk)'s exotics page and check out those offering bananas
