Post by: gazza1960 on March 30, 2015, 21:49:05
Right then as its fast approaching Spring its nearly time to get the
Weber BarbQ out of winter storage so thought id knock a few recipes
up in the kitchen that will be replicated on the charcoals......
....if we get a few dry days...!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think we all Luv a Burger and these are softly spiced and slipped inside
a Pitta Bread Pocket with salad and Mint Raita.

1lb Minced Lamb
2 tsps. Schwartz Moroccan Spice Blend

This subtle spice blend has all the flavours you need to create a tasty
burger, but you can add more flavours as you prefer.

Place the mince in a bowl and add the spice powder, carefully mix together
but dont overwork the mincemeat or the burger pattys will break up
when cooked......

......The quantity makes 4 good sized patties, once made fridge to firm up the burger meat.

meantime knock up a cooling Cucumber  Mint Raita

250ml/8fl oz natural yoghurt

½ cucumber, grated or finely chopped

large handful mint leaves, chopped

large pinch salt

PITTA BREAD

1 tsp salt
15g fresh yeast/7g dried yeast
140ml lukewarm water
10ml Olive Oil

Once you've made your Dough, divide it into 100g balls ......

Roll them out the length of a curly wurly, dont know how that got there
.....ok....I ate it  !!!!!!!!!

Pre heat your oven to 230 degrees and once hot cook your Pittas for 4 to 6 mins...or until puffed up....much longer will see them go too crisp.

Once cooled slice the Pitta open to form a pocket.

"make a salad with your favourite ingredients",and set aside.

Cook your Lamb Burgers on a griddle/Grill till thoroughly cooked through.
