Someone posted this pic last year GA, I believe its Spain or Italy.
Its still amazing to see....so pretty. I guess they are fitted with an irrigation system with white tubes.
unless they are all airbrushed on of course :D

Pebbles are the stones you get on a beach that is not a sandy beach. They can vary in size from quite large to tiny.
Pebble dash is a form of rendering on the outside of a house. I think first a layer of cement (or similar) then that is blasted with pebbles which stick to the cement and form the decoration on the wall. Popular in the middle of the last century (20th)
We had a pebble dash house in Seaton, Devon,when I was a child, and I spent hours checking the walls for tiny shells - I found them probably a dozen or so over the whole house. It was only pebble dashed halfway up the walls.
If you google pebble dash for images you'll get quite a few sites that explain how it's done and examples.

similar I guess to our stucco walls but with more texture. Thank you for the definition. Often I'm not sure if it is some British slang on this forum I'm reading. Your word "fleecing" for example always jolts me. Here it means to take advantage or steal from some unwary person and has nothing to do with gardening.

Fleecing can mean that here to but not in the gardening context.
Pebble dashing is very common in the UK but I'd never seen it before I came here. If you have stucco and then blast small stones at it while it's still wet that's pebble dashing.
What I want to know is how they got all those plants there in the first place!

and the lone woman in the upper left hand corner is being shunned because she wouldn't knuckle under and help water.

If its a dog, then perhaps they are wondering how to fit it into absailing gear to go up and water the plants. If it's a giant sausage, well, I'm not going there ::)

Has anyone noticed that no shadows are cast on the walls by the pots lol.
On closer inspection I think you will find its a joke!!.. coz try spotting the difference on some of the pots lol :) 8)

Judging from the shadows under their chairs it might be almost high noon. There seems to be a slight cast shadow on the right hand wall just to the right of those pots. Try enlarging the view- it looks like the flowers are growing differently in all the pots.
It seems real to me- maybe something a restaurant would do outside to decorate?
Or someone who was potty trained too early?

There seem to be slight shadows under the pots on the right-hand wall. If you look at the people below, the pic's been taken with the light behind the photographer, which would minimise shadows.

There is a good possibility that they don't water them at all. All the pots have Pelargoniums which can go months without watering. I never water mine. Opps. ::)

tee Gee, where was this photo taken? Someone sent it to me a year or two ago that had never been on A4A- guess it has been seen around the world by now but CERTAINLY NOT with this high level of scrutiny!
