Lovely morning, was it my imagination or was it lighter earlier :toothy10: Anyway all veggies picked and home ready for preparation. Also on my ride to the allotments I pass a sweet chestnut tree and last month I picked a few of the prickly little sods, We will boil them up and add to the sprouts and the after xmas stir fry. Merry Crimbo and while I am at it I found a last cracker in the box. The serviette started singing 'Chestnuts roasting on an open fire' turned out it was a Napkin Cole. Wassail

When we managed to pick some chestnuts last year, I sliced them across the top and put them in the microwave for a minute to cook them.
Prefer my sprouts au natural, ie no bacon or chestnuts.

There's a recipe on the BBC web site for roasted sprouts with garlic butter and parmesan. Came out more like shredded sprouts and was OK - the family liked it because (I suspect) the dish didn't taste so much of sprouts!
