Title: gooseberry attacked
Post by: chrispea on September 02, 2004, 07:12:12
 :-X
Having lost all my crop this year despite squishing, squirting with derris ,kicking and stamping on the little grubby sawfly catapillars. I would welcome any further advice for use next year.

In hope!

I guess all you can do is fleece your bushes in early spring.  They savaged my redcurrant bushes last year, but none this year.  Tis a battlefield out there!

You could always try han ging a nut-feeder close to the bushes.  While the blue tits are queueing up for their turn at the feeder they usually perch on the nearest bush and will clean up any caterpillars they find there.
