Title: Use for a greenhouse frame
Post by: davee65uk on August 22, 2018, 16:47:37
On our allotment we have an area where you can dispose of metal. Today I noticed that somebody has left a complete greenhouse frame in bits. As I already have two greenhouses, two cold frames and three cloches can anybody suggest an alternative use for this greenhouse frame?

How big is it?   Cover with netting or rigid wire mesh such as builders use and use it as a climbing frame for squashes, beans, grapes.

Cover it with netting and use as a fruit cage?

I'm with both those ideas. One of our plot holders has an old coverless polytunnel frame covered in pea and bean netting and has grown runner beans over it.... easy to pick as the beans hang clear of the foliage and you can see why they were grown as ornamental climbers originally. :sunny:

I've used mine as a beanframe, as suggested - I've tied canes along each side for beans and grown peas on netting at the end :)
Good support on a windy site :D

Thanks for all the suggestions. The frame has now been taken by someone else to use as an ordinary greenhouse.
