If it does happen its a month earlier than we've had for four years (first frost date here has been second or third week in november) . Its been a cold week !! havent wanted to do much outside.

Have a lot of wrapping up to do tommorow  :(

Mine aren't ready either.  The large ones are almost there and I have picked some of them but the baby Chires need longer.

I don't know whether to fleece them or cut them down and keep them on the plant in the shed for a couple of weeks.  The problem is that the weather is not going to get warmer over the next week so I can't see that they would ripen if left in the ground.

If I picked off the corns and put them on a warm sunny window ledge indoors, would they ripen?

Our first frost last year was in mid October and it was -6C which was a bit of a shock to me and the garden.

I'll be picking the pumpkins this afternoon and storing them indoors for safety.   Fleece for the cavolo nero and fingers crossed for the broccoli and  sprouts.   I don't expect the assorted oriental leaves to survive much longer now.
