Title: Save the water from boiling eggs
Post by: GRACELAND on June 25, 2010, 15:48:00
1. Save the water from boiling eggs. It is filled with minerals and excellent for your plants.

2. Throw your broken egg shells into a large container and fill with water. Let sit for a week, then discard the egg shells and use the water to feed your plants.

Always wash my eggshells and then microwave them for a minute or put them in the oven after baking then crushed in the pestel and mortar and saved to put around slug/snail attractive plants. I never knew about saving the water, another great tip  :)

Water used to boil eggs would have trace elements in it, including calcium.

Calcium is used to cure mineral deficiency. Tomato Blossom End Rot, for example, is caused by calcium deficiency. Seaweed feed also contains a lot of calcium and sodium (chemically interchangeable from a plants point of view).
