Looks like a strawberry to me.  Salad burnett have very dark green leaves.  You will soon know when it flowers.

Yes salad burnett leaves are smaller with many more along each stalk. Looks like maybe wild strawb/alpine?

I can confirm it is not alpine/wild strawberry...I've got loads of those growing over here.

They almost like the first 'immature' leaves of coriander....or the first leaves of alfa alfa...

Doesn't look like coriander to me, leaves too thick. Also looks like been outside as grass mixed in, coriander doesn't survive outside where I live.

Definitely not like any coriander I've seen before if it is!

Yes, it survived outside and is spreading into wilder bit of garden edges....this is reallly bugging me as it looks familiar!

Umm..I have actually seen those leaves this morning. I took dog for walk and I spotted some exactly same looking small leaves amongst grass on field.
BUT...as there is only leaves...it is difficult to say exactly what they might grow into..there is several similar looking things in my 'wild flowers' book.
So either it is 'wild flower' = weed or it is 'wild cousin' of veg.
I've looked through my sources, but until there is more growth on or flowers it will be struggle.

I would not eat anything I was not sure about.  There is a good website for identifying wild flower plants.  How many leaves come out of the leaf joint.

Rather than eating try smelling carefully.

Salad burnet has more leaflets to a stem, are more hiding under the grass?
