Title: Storage life of citiric acid?
Post by: caroline7758 on June 19, 2016, 11:33:17
Just made my first batch of elderflower cordial of the year, but realised the partially- used tub of citric acid (just enough for a batch) had a use by date of January '16. I've used it anyway but just wondered if anyone knows how long it will keep (it's in a plastic airtight tub).

If it's in solid/crystalised form it will last for eons.

I have had a half used container in my cupboard for several years and still use it as and when called for.

Does it have a use by date or a best before?

It will be fine - it keeps for years esp if it is airtight and room temp.
