Title: Brass Monkeys
Post by: markymark on December 28, 2003, 15:54:25
Anyone been down to their lottie today?

Went down this morning for a couple of hours and despite 3 layers of clothing still froze my cods off! :o.......
maybe I need to invest in a bottle of scotch to put in the shed for "emergency" purposes?? ;D

Oh well, will just have to snuggle up with a bottle of red and surf.......

I reckon it's too cold to snow down here in Essex....Brrrrrrrrrr. How is everyone else fairing??

We had a thick covering of frost this morninghere in Yorkshire. It had crisped up the bit of snow from the day before. The pavements were treacherous.but then the sun got outuntil about three o' clock. Now there is a howling gale blowing.

Hello All  :)

No frost or snow down here in Dorset, but Bl**dy cold all the same!! :(

Tried popping out into the garden this morning. Not for long though, soon retreated indoors to read about gardening instead of doing it!!  ;D :D

Still its nice to see the sun after all those days of leaden skies and rain.

We managed a couple of hours this afternoon.

Had a small sleet shower just before setting off but that didn't deter us as we had to clear an overgrown area so we could shift more of our mushroom compost.

Taken me 4 hours to thaw out though after returning home :(

We drove through Alishka's blizzard  yesterday,on our way to Somerset. It started in Telford, but by Worcester the sun was shining and the road, dry. Sunny, but cold then, until night fall then it poured. Today we drove back in dull but dry and the frost only started as it went dark. 450 miles in 2 days. Not bad going.
Went shopping in North Cheshire before Christmas and got stared at by all these well wrapped up locals, cos we left our coats in the car. We though it was warm. compared to here anyway. Mind it was really cold when we got home -5 sort of cold.
