Title: Elderflower cordial without citric acid?

Picked the elderflowers then found the chemist closed at lunchtime. What happens if I leave it out?

Do you have anything you could use as a substitute? either lemon juice or tartaric acid would work well.

Most of the recipes say lemon juice as well- should I just put extra in?

Yes, 1 rounded teaspoon of citric acid is equivalent to the juice of 1 lemon.

Great, thanks Baccyman. My recipe say 75g of citric acid - how many teaspoons would that be, I wonder? ???

1 teaspoon = 5g so 75g = 13 teaspoons   :o :o :o

Either you are making a huge batch or your recipe is wrong. It would normally be 1-2 teaspoons per batch.
