I grow Longor shallots which I always planted in April as per suppliers advice. Last year I planted in November the same time as my garlic and I have had the best crop that i have ever produced. I have kept my own seeds for many years as suppliers are now too expensive with the quantity that I set. I have had no deterioration in quality over the years but last years planting was certainly the best.
