Title: "Not a lot of people know that"

.......but then a lot of people do!

Spotted a couple of rat runs around my compost bin up at the plot recently and wondered how to put them off.

Looks like I'll be putting a couple of pots of (invasive) catmint around!

Other bits of useful information for the "I didn't know that" peeps amongst us" (not many I'll bet  ;) )

They also hate rhubarb leaves - and it works from personal experience. :)

An interesting site - thanks.
I have rats in the compost bins on one of my plots, but it is near a brook. I had thought that I was going to have to put up with them - perhaps I will try some cat mint.
However there is one advantage that I can see with having rats is that they don't half chew up the compost  which then rots down really quickly!

I'v e met the Council rat man down at the site twice in the last few weeks. It seems that they're bestirring themselves at last.
