Title: Lupins
Post by: Paulines7 on June 15, 2017, 10:13:45
Has anyone else noticed that lupins sold in Garden Centres are no longer perfumed?  It seems that the beautiful smell they once had has given way to the size of the flower stalk.  This is a good thing for hay fever sufferers but not for inclusion in a scented garden.

I didn't even know lupins could be scented! They are one of my favourites but I only have one in a pot right now until I get some proper flower beds sorted out.

They used to have a sweet peppery smell.  There must be other members on here who remember how perfumed they were 30 or 40 years ago!

Interesting! You learn something new every day. Looks like I need to track down some scented ones, they sound really nice.
