I have never seen this before but on harvesting my Snowball onions last week I found they had been chewed away by slugs. One or two so big you could have put saddles on them and rode them! Never seen this before. I presume it is because Snowball is a mild onion with a thin skin.
Anyone seen this?

No it's my first year growing Snowball.
I've not eaten any yet so will see what they taste like and if we like them. (Tthe onions that is!)

I have had slugs\snails get to onions earlier in the season when they are a little less protected by tough skin..
